This is what I wrote in 10.9.2005 before the listing(rewrite for clarity)
TMC lifescience berhad wholly owned subsidairy Damansara Fertility Centre started operation since January 1994
some salient ponts to share
1) 11 years(till Jan 2005) of operation producing 950 test-tube babies,equivalent to
one third of the whole country's test-tube babies during this period(2900).
2) IVF(test-tube babies ) success rate 47.3% comparable to Top few Us centre,better
than top 10 Uk centre(28.6 to 38.6%) and definitely better than Singapore's centre
(16 to 28%)
3) Cheapest in treatment fee for infertily among the Asean countries
TMC lifescience RM 12,000 to 16,000
Singapore RM 15,000 to 40,000
Indonesia RM 14,000 to 20,000
Philiphine RM 15,000 to 22,000
Thailand RM 12,000 to 16000(same)
4)Revenue increased 33 % yearly from 2001 to 2004 and Profit increased 80%yearly
from 2002 to 2004.
5) Potential : Malaysia and Australia similar population and infertility rate of ~15%
but in Australia 30000 people seek infertility treatment per year,Malaysia only 1400
people.

| I am not trying to be rude. But I cant see the relationship at all ? Comparing the population of 2 diffrent counteries in judging a share value ? I just cant see the logic.

In my opinion, when a comparison is made between the population in these countries, what Tanhin did was he highlighted the business potential.
For example. Take a look at point 5 made.
5) Potential : Malaysia and Australia similar population and infertility rate of ~15% but in Australia 30000 people seek infertility treatment per ear,Malaysia only 1400 people.
This information is rather useful for it shows that Malaysian in general are not seeking infertility treatment.
Yes, whether they will or not seek infertility treatment is one issue but if they do, that stats showed by Tanhin indicated that there is 'potential' in such business. And potential equals to business growth which equals to potential future profit growth.
And if and when it does happen, would the stock 'price' ignore the growth in earnings?
That's my humble understanding.

Doc,
I actually like TMC. I think it is a wonderful small little business. Very profitable but the only issue is the size of it. Because the size of business is so small and as stated by you, from the statistical data, correct me if I am wrong but it would appear that Malaysians are finding this subject as taboo. Well, if TMC does overcome this issue, then of course there is really potential in this business.

This is what I intended to say but I have oversimplified the "potential“。。。。in actual fact,it is rather difficult to compare as only a small segment of Malaysia population are seeking infertility treatment mainly middle to upper income group,better educated,urban,mainly Chinese. And we also have to take into account the availability of such facility at the government hospitals with hugely subsidied rate..
Thus, it is really difficult but we have to try to understand the whole picture.
Btw,to judge the potential of TMC ,we have to look into
1) how well it had captured the existing pool of potential patients
2) whether it expands into the potential areas like Penang,Malacca,Kuching,etc that have "potential client"s
-----------beisides branches at Kepong,Johore Baru,it will set up a Infertility treatment clinic at the SIBU Specialist Medical Centre.
3) whether it can attract nearby foreign patients(indonesia/singapore/philiphine/Japan/India/Europe/Middle East)to seek tteatment here with attractive package or dealing with third party.
-----------increased in revenue contribution from foreign patients from 5% （2004） to 10%（RM 21.65millions,2005），expect to increase to 30% when its Tropicana Medical Centre Satrts opeartion by 2008.
-----------tie up with tour agency at Indonesia ELECTRATOUR.
---------- tie up with California based agency Van VIc Vacations to offer Health tourisam package for fertility treatemnt services at TMC centres
----------signing MOU with 10 China travel agencies for similar fertility package
4)whether it ventures into related fields that are complimentary to the infertility treatment and profitable too
hope I will be able to answer it soon. If not,I will be writing to the management for details.

I agree with you that the demand for fertility treatment will be growing as the income level of the population increases. The percentage of couples with infertility problem is practically fixed.
Just wondering, why do they go for public listing?
For better publicity?
For MESDAQ, I am looking at TECFAST right now. Likely to give impressive 2Q result.

no reply after 2 weeks.......may be I am such a nuisance to them asking all the details that cannot be answered...........another reminder send......see how.
