I check with their FR 2007 (pdf) (pg 110) , total borrowing shld be 771,302,000. While they got cash of 1,774,573,000 (pg 108) on 2007. I was confuse about the figure u posted comparing to the report i downloaded from http://www.klse.com.my

If the figure is true, cash - debt 1,774,573,000 - 771,302,000 = apprx 1 billion. This means it still have around 1 billion cash even after deduct all the debt .

Possible to enlighten me wheter this company is really a "cash rich" company ? A good buy at current level 1.1 -1.2 ?if its eps really inline with what its MD projected, of RM 0.30 after commencement of its new mega billion DRI plant on 1st quater 08?

First thing first.

I ALWAYS try to lay my hands on the latest report.

For LionD, let's look at the very latest Quarterly earnings report made on 26th Feb 2008. Quarterly rpt on consolidated results for the financial period ended 31/12/2007

If you open that link, there's an attached excel file.

1. How much cash balance do you see?

2. What's their total debts?

Thanks. I get its latest report from the link. I am still in amateur level, not very good in analyzing FR . Hope you can shed some light for me.

1.) Total cash & Cash equivalents as at 31/12/2007 316,972,000 ( CF line59)

Total debt ( long term + short term )
2.) Total Borrowing and debt securities , secured and unsecure 447,787,000 (Notes line313)

3. ) cash - debt = -130,815,000

So , they are not debt free ,bt the debt is still at tolerable level as they are funding on their DRI Plant which commence on March 2008.

__ Moolah, can comment on the stock? I am really very confusing on wheter it will be a good buy or not.

regrading LionD. Most important is to judge LionD from the most recent earnings onwards. Previous earnings are all distorted due to changes made within the company.

Is LionD good? Take a look at it's most recent earnings. Do you like what you see?

Compare it with other steel stocks.

Then ask yourself... do you reckon LionD is good?
